This is a lightweight way to organize the slices within a list, and it gives you a quick way to show/hide sections of slices in the list.

To add a header, edit the list and click <use xlink:href="#shape-more-icon"></use> next to one of the slices, then choose “Add header.”

Enter the header text, and you’re done.

From then on, when viewing the list, you’ll see the header in the left sidebar when practicing in your list, and you’ll be able to click it to toggle slices:

For more info, see our updated help page on lists.
307Persistent notations in horizontal layouthttps://www.soundslice.com/blog/306/persistent-notations-in-horizontal-layout/
By popular demand, we’ve improved Soundslice’s horizontal layout to keep clef and key signature always visible. Here’s what it looks like:

This is now always activated if you’re in horizontal layout. It’s disabled during editing.

For more info, see our new help page.
306Introducing “Older device mode”https://www.soundslice.com/blog/305/introducing-older-device-mode/
We’ve added “Older device mode” to our player, which lets you disable certain audio processing features if you’re using an older device.

View a slice, then open the player settings and look for the “Older device mode” section:

Check the box to enable older device mode.

Two things to note:

This replaces our previous feature called “Enhanced slowdown.” There’s no longer an “Enhanced slowdown” option in the speed controls.

In some cases, we’ll automatically activate older device mode. It depends on your device and how well it supports web audio stuff.

For more details on what functionality changes in older device mode, please see our new help page.
305Better lyrics language support in scanshttps://www.soundslice.com/blog/304/better-lyrics-language-support-in-scans/
Many people around the world use our sheet music scanner, and we frequently hear feedback that our lyric detection is too focused on English/Latin characters. Today we’re happy to announce a first step in fixing that: we now use custom OCR models for lyrics in 20 languages.

When you do a PDF/image scan, you can now specify which language the lyrics use:

Our system will use that to run appropriate OCR on the lyrics. This should result in higher-quality lyric conversion, using language-specific glyphs and diacritics.

At the moment, we support the following languages:

Arabic

Czech

Chinese - Simplified

Chinese - Traditional

Dutch

English

French

German

Greek

Hebrew

Italian

Japanese

Korean

Latin

Polish

Portuguese

Russian

Slovak

Spanish

Ukrainian

304
